The bugs have always played but now they play with bigger stings
The game has gotten harder now, they're onto bigger things
They come to me at times when I feel I shouldn't need them
But they persist with cunning ways that always make me heed them
They tell me things I can't shut out, they tell me constantly
They tell me to grow into something I don't want-to-be
They scream and shout and taunt and then they make me doubt myself
They cloud out worth of self and I just can't see my own wealth

Just when I find myself again and I think that all is right
They come to me at the worst times when I'm alone at night
Or when confusion mounts, they like to visit me there
But I'm sick from them inside my head playing with my despair
I fight them with the brightness, they don't like it that much
But when the darkness comes again, they like to stay in touch
Will I rid them from my thoughts, or will they be forever
I can overcome them, if their food supply I sever

But I don't know what's behind this face of mine anymore
I don't even know myself which side I'm on in this war
If I can't find myself and work out how to kill this plague
I can't live fully once again instead of life so vague
So I cut them out, but they come back, they're like a cancer strange
They make my dealings with others just fall right out of range
But I'll conquer them, i'll conquer them I'll fucking rip them out
They'll fade into nothingness and they'll take with them my doubt
