Welcome to my life or should I say…my curse
It’s not that bad, but my mind makes it worse
I feel alone & lost in my creative purpose
Like a touch of frost in a boiling furnace
A solo force…driven by my soul
Looking for applause to validate my role
As a tortured artist, I make…but flounder
It’s hard enough…being plagued by doubters
I need to seek balance on every dimension
I need to speak and challenge with intention
Cos I can’t sit back, think - “that’s that”
Gotta rise, spit fire; on a phat track
This confused being living in this physical
Needs to find a way to remain spiritual
Used to think I could do it by myself
But now realise…I must seek some help

Am I the only one who feels it?

I think about the doubter lodged in my head
I wanna rip it out wish it were dead
Cos past-life crap bubbles to the surface
Creates conflict, tells me I’m worthless
I try to shut it out…but I can’t
As much I want to forget…I shan’t
Cos, in truth…I gotta heal the internal
Create a clear channel to the force eternal
And there are those who made me feel abandoned
Who weren’t there to support, but left me stranded
Some left the musical path, unsure
I understand, but can’t shut that door
Sometimes I wanna quit it hurts too much
Am I going nowhere? Am I losing touch?
Though I feel kindred spirits come soon
I gotta march on and erase the gloom

I’ve tried to fill my life with another path
But when I walk away I wind up at the start
Something compels me, tells me “STAY”
It’s bigger than me, it won’t go away
I can’t stop even if I wanted to
My mission needs me to follow through
Not about end goals, but the process
To make spirit whole, it accepts no less
So battle weary, I walk lockstep
Eyes fixed and alert, seeking what’s next
To climb this mountain to higher self
Activate through music…cos it helps
Bridge gaps between the divine and I
To stay positive in my mind’s eye
I know i’m not alone in the way I feel
And it’s this sole fact that helps me deal
