A semi-spoken word/semi-rapped song with globally conscious lyrics, a yearning for peace and a questioning of current societal norms.
lyrics
I wake up from a dream and life materialises
I see my world a cracked mirror through 2 cold steely irises
I feel my achy-braky-heart kinda like Billy-Ray Cyrus's
And wonder if the world can overcome its many current crises's
But thinking what the hell can I do? In what way can I help?
Should I sit alone here thinking, leave my ideas up on the shelf?
I want to be someone to promote a better world vision
But I see those shut off at the brain influenced by television...
Or caught up in their lives, debts, death, work and all the rest
We're specialised, confused and otherwise occupied till death
I want to search across the world and find a common unique thread
Don't want to see it ravished by wars, imperialists and dread
I'm not the only one that feels this way...that much is true
But publishing my thoughts like this may help others to do
What I can't ever do by myself without us all to help ourselves
I'm not holier than thou, or correct, but I merely want to help
Feeling frustrated at times, helpless, watching the way that things are going
Will you unite with me and can we achieve a goal worth doing
Lets wade through waters deep, and confront problems at the helm
And push this earth and world into a much more safer, righteous realm
Why aren't we taught conflict resolution at school?
Why do we become a one-trick-tool?
Why aren't we taught to embrace and respect instead of all their rules?
Why can't we just rise up cos we will never be their fools...
Why aren't we taught conflict resolution at school?
Why do we become a one-trick-tool?
Why aren't we taught to embrace and respect instead of all their rules?
Why can't we just rise up cos we will never be their fools...
So let me just repeat myself, I've left it up to all of us
And look inside yourself, and realise that you can trust
Possibly everybody else, if we all want the same outcome
We need you and your help, and we'll unite and we'll become
Something worth living for; a world we all can just adore
But if my words do not sink in, I feel i've burdened you with bore
The problem looks insurmountable when looked at from a distance
But up close and seen much finer we can see the realest substance
The world is crying, see it dying, tears have now evaporated
But all we see is leaders lying, our fears are trapped in hatred
Why aren't we taught conflict resolution at school?
Why do we become a one-trick-tool?
Why aren't we taught to embrace and respect instead of all their rules?
Why can't we just rise up cos we will never be their fools...
Why aren't we taught conflict resolution at school?
Why do we become a one-trick-tool?
Why aren't we taught to embrace and respect instead of all their rules?
Why can't we just rise up cos we will never be their fools...
